The newly developed CBR600RR is a successor of the values of "Total Control" pursued consistently throughout all the previous CBR series. Updated with the best of the best, with features derived from the RC213V's aerodynamic management function and electronic controls. While the CBR600RR is lightweight and compact in size which enables agile handling, it’s also defined by the high-power and controllable output.
In motorcycle road racing, the middleweight class is known as the "gateway" category for almost all racing riders who now compete at the top. It’s because of its professional-use specifications, vehicle size, weight, and well-balanced power output, and its recognised as the class that helps riders cultivate their qualities and skills. The CBR600RR will dominate this class. The ideal gateway for any rider wanting to take the next step in their racing careers, or for those after a serious race ready machine to enjoy on weekends, be it for a track day or as your weekend mode of transport.
The CBR600RR's compact 599cc, liquid cooled DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine’s high-power output is thanks to an enhanced rotation rate and optimised camshaft, valve spring, and crankshaft designs. The shape port of the cylinder head, throttle bore diameter, and valve timing all contribute to the motorcycle’s high performance.
Features
Showa Suspension
The 41mm inverted Showa Big Piston Front Fork front suspension offers excellent rigidity balance. The light swingarm has an optimised internal structure, aimed at the ideal rigidity balance and thickness. The reduced unsprung mass enhances riding performance as well.
Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)
Detecting slippage between the driven rear wheel and the road surface during acceleration, HSTC controls the amount of engine torque reaching the rear wheel. Offering the perfect amount of power to give you the best traction and stabilise the bike.
Aerodynamic Styling
The CBR600RR is an aggressively-styled fully-faired supersport machine, taking design cues from the legendary Honda race machines.
Assist Slipper Clutch
The aluminium cam assist slipper clutch has been designed to mitigate rear wheel hop caused by sudden braking when shifting down gears, significantly reducing the physical operating force of the clutch lever.
Exhaust System
The signature under seat exhaust is designed to improve efficiency, also contributing to enhanced power output. The shape, size, weight and all parts are developed to deliver the highest performance.
Race Inspired
Taking inspiration from Honda's ultimate RC213V race machine, the CBR600RR offers a perfect balance of high-revving power, precise handling, light weight, and compact overall size. The CBR600RR's extremely compact 599cc, liquid cooled DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder power plant makes a great contribution to the motorcycle’s superb handling. The high-power output of the new CBR600RR is thanks to an enhanced rotation rate and new camshaft, valve spring, and crankshaft. The port of the cylinder head has been reshaped. The throttle bore diameter has been expanded. The valve timing has been readjusted. And new TBW has been adopted.
Big On Brakes
The braking system uses a radial-mounted opposed-piston 4-pot caliper and 310mm double disc on the front, a lightweight single-pot caliper, and 220mm disc on the rear. With cornering ABS, the ECU detects the motorcycle’s position and bank angle signal sent from the IMU and controls the brake pressure through the ABS modulator. It suppresses the rear lift during hard braking, and improves stability.
Light It Up
The CBR600RR uses an eye-catching dual-lens LED headlight that casts a powerful, scientifically tuned beam. It’s both brighter and smaller than a conventional design and contributes in a big way to the CBR600RR’s sense of style. Brake lights and indicators are also LED.
TFT Digital Instrument Panel
The easy-to-read TFT screen features digital speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, clock, odometer, trip meter, real-time and average fuel consumption meters, and illuminated engine diagnostic indicators.
Pick Your Riding Mode
You can choose any of the 5 riding modes (3 pre-set and 2 that can be customised) at will and enjoy different performance depending on the situation. Each mode alters Power, Honda Selectable Torque Control intervention, Wheelie Mitigation Control, and Selectable Engine Brake (EB). You can switch to a different riding mode while riding too, just by using the SEL switch on the left handlebar.
